Thirdy Ravena Assures All is Well After Testing Positive for COVID-19
Ferdinand “Thirdy” Ravena III, who is playing as reinforcement for San-En NeoPhoenix in the Japan B-League, assured that all is well after testing positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a social media post on Saturday, the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles star said that he is on the road to recovery but is expected to miss two weeks of action for the NeoPhoenix.
“All good over here,” Ravena posted on his Twitter account. “Appreciate all the love and concern over the past 24 hours. I feel well already but have to follow quarantine protocols indefinitely.”
“Just a reminder that the virus is still out there so let’s not take it for granted. Stay safe everyone! Much love,” added the Ilonggo guard.
The NeoPhoenix announced that Ravena was tested positive for the virus after he started to feel COVID-19 symptoms on Thursday. He is currently isolated in his apartment.
The 23-year-old Ravena played in a practice game against private club Kanazawa Samurai Team last Tuesday. He is set to undergo quarantine and will miss NeoPhoenix’s next match against Shimane Susanoo Magic on December 2.
Ravena is averaging 12.0 points on 36-percent shooting, along with 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.7 minutes of action for the NeoPhoenix, which is currently at the cellar with 2-13 record.
