Thirdy Ravena goes pro in Japan’s B. League
Thirdy Ravena is Japan-bound as he makes his professional debut in the Japan Professional Basketball League or B.League.
B.League formally announced in a statement on Wednesday that the SAN-EN NEOPHOENIX team has acquired the 6-foot-2 swingman based on “Asian Players Quotas”
“We are very pleased to welcome Ravena to B.League for the first year of Asian Player Quotas,” accordingto B.League’s official statement. “We will continue to collaborate and cooperate with Asian partners to develop basketball in Asia.”
The Asian player quotas is part of a new rules for the 2020-21 season in which the B.League hopes “to enhance competitive abilities by matching with various Asian players in daily games and to expand business in the Asian market.”
The 23-year old would even post the news on Instagram, saying that “the new chapter awaits” for him.
The second-generation and younger Ravena will be best known for being an integral part of Ateneo Blue Eagles’ three straight championships and was the University Athletic Association of the Philippines’ Finals Most Valuable Player from Seasons 80, 81, and 82.
