TNT just came prepared for Game 1, Pogoy says
Top-seeded TNT KaTropa dominated the Game 1 of their Best-of-7 Finals series against the San Miguel Beermen from the get-go. And for RR Pogoy, it is because te KaTropa simply came prepared for war.
“Siguro maganda lang yung nilaro namin. Ready kami itong game na ‘to. Pero wala pa, malayo pa. Kasi best-of-7 naman ‘to e,” Pogoy said after their 109-96 win Sunday night.
“Basta kami hindi namin iniisip yung gagawin nila, kung gaano sila ka-ready. Basta kami ready lang talaga kami every game. Hindi namin iniisip kung Finals ba ‘to o kung ano. Simula nung first game pa lang this conference, one game at a time lang talaga kami,” Pogoy said.
Pogoy also admitted that he had a hard time defending San Miguel’s import Chris Mccollough, but he was glad that the KaTropa had a good team defense against the big guy.
“Sobrang hirap depensahan talaga. Tapos 6’ 9” pa, ako 6’ 2” lang ako. Pero tulungan naman kami e. Alam naman namin na nandun si Terrence sa baba, so tulungan lang,” Pogoy said.
The former Far Eastern University guard also apologized for sticking his tongue out after stealing the ball from McCollough in the middle of the game.
“Sorry sorry ‘don. Kasi nadala lang ako sa emosyon,” he said.
