TNT taps Jones’ ex-teammate KJ McDaniels for Gov’s Cup
The TNT Katropa tapped the services of another ex-NBA player in KJ McDaniels to be their reinforcement in the upcoming 2019 Governors’ Cup.
McDaniels was a second round draft pick by the Philadephia 76ers in the 2014 draft.
He was then traded to the Houston Rockets in 2015 where he played with former TNT import and 2019 Commissioner’s Cup best import Terrence Jones.
The 6’5″ Clemson University standout played for two seasons with the Rockets before he was dealt with the Brooklyn Nets.
The NBA journeyman then found himself playing for Grand Rapid Drives and in the Oklahoma Blues in the G-League.
McDaniels averaged 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds in 52 games with the Sixers.
McDaniels will have ample time to blend in with TNT as the league takes a short break to give way to the FIBA World Cup with the Governors’ Cup starting in the third week of September.
