Twitter erupts as PH makes Asiad volleyball comeback
Alyssa Valdez and the rest of the Filipinas volleybelles played once again in the 2018 Asian Games after 36 years of absence.
Valdez trended on Twitter with 27.9k tweets as of posting. Many praised Valdez’s performance while others took their attention on the rotation in the third set.
Alyssa Valdez is consistently excellent at what she does. Just look at that single block on Pleumjit Thinkaow, a medal-laden middle blocker. It's unbelievable that some people still have the audacity to not respect her as a player.

That back row drop ball from Alyssa works like a charm ❤️ #LabanPilipinas

In the first set, Valdez used her experience playing in Thailand, playing with the defense of the Thais. Head coach Shaq delos Santos benched Valdez, Jaja Santiago, Aby Maraño, Kim Fajardo, Kim Dy, and Mika Reyes in the third set. It doesn’t work well with netizens.
Alyssa Valdez and Jaja Santiago were performing well the whole 1st set and coach subbed them out 'coz Thailand was pulling away on the 2nd set and he didn't even bring them back to the game……… Da heck I don't get it????💆🏻♀️

pulling out Alyssa and Jaja was Shaq’s version of a white flag.

Coach, Ortiz and Baron are better blockers than Reyes.
Jia's fast plays are way better than Fajardo.
Lazaro has a decent reception and digging skills than Macandili.
Alyssa and Jaja are the bread and butter of our team, bakit mo binangko?
