UAAP stars stand with ABS-CBN after House denies franchise renewal

UAAP has lost its home, as the House Committee on Legislative Franchises voted 70-11 to deny ABS-CBN’s bid for a 25-year franchise renewal and to resume their broadcasts operations — including ABS-CBN Sports & Action.

ABS-CBN S&A has given UAAP the platform and exposure for up-and-coming athletes to showcase their talents and athleticism.

Which is why well-known college stars such as NU Bulldogs forward Shaun Ildefonso, UST Tigers captain CJ Cansino, UP Maroons star Kobe Paras, and even former UP/current Blackwater guard Diego Dario stood together for ABS-CBN’s fight for press freedom.

The partnership between UAAP and ABS-CBN have formally ended on May this year, and the storied collegiate league has yet to find a new home.
