Unlike the NBA, UAAP okay with ‘ninja-style bandanas’: Self-expression ‘yun!
University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Executive Director Rebo Saguisag said there is no problem with their players wearing the so-called “ninja-style” headbands on the hardcourt.
“It’s been a week and all teams have played. No issue has been raised with regard to the wearing of the so called “ninja-style” headbands,” he said in a statement Tuesday.
The UAAP exec said he supports freedom of expression through accessories as long as it is within the limit set by the league.
“Personally, I am all for style and self-expression within the bounds of the rule,” he said.
This comes after the National Basketball Association (NBA) is reportedly banning headbands this upcoming season due to safety concerns.
