UP Maroons Coach Perasol: Nothing Final On Lina Acquisition
University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons is interested in acquiring University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers rookie center John Bismarck Lina but nothing has been agreed upon yet.
Fighting Maroons head coach Dolreich “Bo” Perasol told Fastbreak on Wednesday evening that the UP management were already negotiating with the former UST Tiger Cubs slotman.
“Our management team is still in the talking stages with him. Nothing final,” Perasol said in a short reply.
If ever Lina pushes through with his transfer, Lina will be eligible to play for the Fighting Maroons on UAAP Season 84.
And if Lina’s departure will happen, he will be the eighth player to leave the Tigers lair since the infamous “Sorsogon Bubble” of former UST head coach Aldin Ayo.
Others who have departed earlier were CJ Cansino to Fighting Maroons, Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso and Ira Bataller to Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights, Mark Nonoy and Vince Deo Cuajao to De La Salle University Green Archers and Ferdinand Asuncion to Mapua University Cardinals.
