Utah Jazz Prevails Over Los Angeles Clippers, Takes 1-0 Lead
Utah Jazz recovered from a flat start to score a 112-109 victory over Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of their NBA Western Conference semifinals series on Tuesday night at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Trailing for most part of the match, the Jazz gained control of the match in the fourth period behind Donovan Mitchell and Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson for a 91-85 lead.
The Clippers were still hanging around at 93-96 following a basket from Kawhi Leonard but the Jazz widened the gap to 103-93 with hits from Bojan Bogdanovic.
The LAC, however, made its last push at 109-112 after a triple by Paul George and even had a chance to tie it but Marcus Morris Sr.was blocked by Utah’s Rudy Gobert on his triple attempt.
Mitchell finished the match with 45 points, while Clarkson and Bogdanovic added 18 markers apiece for the Jazz, which took a 1-0 edge in the best-of-seven series.
Leonard led the Clippers with 23 points, while George submitted double-double 20 points and 11 rebounds.
