THE Denver Nuggets have officially added veteran scorer DeMar DeRozan to their roster, giving Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray another experienced offensive weapon heading into the 2026-27 NBA season.

The signing was formally entered into the NBA’s transaction log on Tuesday, confirming the agreement Denver and DeRozan reached late last month.

DeRozan, 37, spent the previous two seasons with the Sacramento Kings before becoming a free agent in July. He produced 18.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game across 77 appearances last season while connecting on 49.7 percent of his field-goal attempts.

The six-time All-Star is also entering the season with 26,711 career points, which puts him 16th on the NBA’s all-time scoring leaderboard.

Denver reportedly landed DeRozan on a one-year veteran minimum contract worth around $3.9 million, a deal that allowed the Nuggets to bring in an established scorer despite restrictions created by their second-apron status.

The Nuggets made room for the addition after moving Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a sign-and-trade that netted Denver an unprotected 2031 first-round pick and a 2032 second-round selection.

DeRozan’s arrival gives coach David Adelman another player capable of creating offense in the half court, particularly when Jokic or Murray need additional scoring support.

The veteran also brings considerable availability to Denver’s lineup. DeRozan has played at least 60 games in every NBA season of his career, a consistency that could prove valuable over an 82-game schedule.

With the signing, Denver now has 14 players on guaranteed contracts as the team prepares for its next campaign with championship aspirations. (Jesus Nathaniel Valdez)
