Victolero defends struggling import John Fields: ‘May problema siya sa ankle’

John Fields, a known solid import in the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup for the Columbian Dyip where he normed for 29.1 points and 19.1 rebounds, has been on a hump lately for the Magnolia Hotshots.

Fields only managed to score 12 points and grab 6 boards in the Hotshots’ 80-103 PBA Commissioner’s Cup debut loss to the Alaska Aces Wednesday.

But Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero is not disappointed towards his import as he bared that his import was battling a sprained ankle.

“Si John kasi, actually may problema siya sa ankle niya.

“Two days before our game, na-sprain yung ankle niya. Unfair din naman doon sa import natin, pinilit lang niya maglaro today. Yun lang,” shared Victolero. “I’ll talk to him on Friday.”

Magnolia will have a tough schedule next week, where they will be playing three games in five days versus NorthPort Batang Pier, NLEX Road Warriors, and Columbian, respectively.
