PH men’s curling stuns Japan, advances to Asian Winter Games semis

The Philippine men’s curling team pulled off a stunning upset against Japan to book a spot in the semifinals of the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games.

Composed of siblings Marc and Enrico Pfister, along with Christian Haller, Alan Frei, and Benjo Delarmente, the Filipinos dominated their Japanese counterparts with a 10-4 victory.

Locked in a 4-4 deadlock after the sixth end, the Philippines surged ahead by scoring four points in the seventh to secure the win.

This marks the first time in Asian Winter Games history that Japan has failed to reach the medal round in men’s curling.

The Philippines will now face China for a chance to advance to the final.
