Belingon determined to keep fighting: ‘I’m not done’

Former ONE bantamweight champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon will continue his MMA journey when he takes on rival and fellow former champion Bibiano “Flash” Fernandes in ONE 171.

The 37-year-old has been competing professionally for 18 years, but the Silencer does not see himself hanging up his MMA gloves just yet.

“For me? I think I’ll be stressed out without MMA, without competition. That’s why even without a fight, I stay active in training. It’s like my body would get sick if I don’t train, hit the pads, or get hit,” said Belingon.

“This sport is in my blood. This has been my life, and that’s why I’m truly excited to compete at a high level again.”

Belingon will be battling Fernandes for the fifth time in ONE 171: Qatar inside Lusail Sports Arena in Doha on February 20.

He vowed to settle unfinished business with Fernandes, who has beaten him twice. Belingon also wants to get off a rough five-fight skid.

“What I want to prove is that I’m not done. I’m still strong. I can still hit hard. I can still fight. I want to show in this fight that I’ve improved.”
