College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers once again stamped its dominance in the NCAA women’s volleyball scene, with Zam Nolasco leading the charge after being named Most Valuable Player for Season 101.
Nolasco delivered a commanding campaign at the net, anchoring the Lady Blazers’ defense and offense en route to another finals appearance. Her consistent presence in the middle not only powered Benilde’s title push but also extended the school’s streak of producing MVP winners, marking the third straight season a Lady Blazer has claimed the league’s top individual honor.
The veteran middle blocker further underscored her impact by securing one of the Best Middle Blocker awards, sharing the recognition with Emilio Aguinaldo College rookie Ashley Toriado.
While Nolasco set the tone for Benilde’s title contention, it was freshman Cam Bartolome who emerged as one of the season’s brightest revelations.
Displaying versatility and composure beyond her years, Bartolome made an immediate impact as both an outside spiker and middle blocker, earning her a rare double recognition as both Freshman of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
Her rapid rise provided Benilde with an added offensive dimension, complementing the team’s experienced core and reinforcing its position as a perennial contender.
Also contributing to the Lady Blazers’ strong showing was Chenae Basarte, who orchestrated the team’s offense with precision to bag the Best Setter plum.
Around the league, San Beda University’s Angel Habacon continued her stellar play on the wings, capturing her second Best Outside Spiker award. She was joined by Benilde’s Shekaina Lleses, who secured the other outside spiker citation.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran also made its presence felt in the individual honors list, with Judiel Nitura repeating as Best Opposite Hitter after leading the Lady Knights back to the finals.
Nitura’s teammate Lara Mae Silva likewise stood out on defense, clinching her third Best Libero award to solidify her status as one of the league’s elite floor defenders.
