Taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin booked himself a trip to Paris for the 2024 Paralympics by dominating the Asian Qualification Tournament in China.
The 25-year-old beat India’s Sandeep Singh Maan of India, 25-13, to win the gold and a Paris qualification in the men’s 80kg in Tai’an.
It was the only slot available for Asia in the men’s 80kg category.
He will be joining fellow Filipino swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom in Paris.
In 2021, Ganapin also qualified for the Paralympics.
But he failed to compete after testing positive for COVID-19.
