Filipino center Kai Sotto is nearing his debut with the Yokohama B-Corsairs in the Japan B.League Division 1.

Yokohama announced that the 7-foot-3 center is undergoing medical protocols to finalize his transfer from the Hiroshima Dragonflies.

Sotto has been dealing with an injured herniated lumbar disc, a condition he played through during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 last August.

The same back injury led the Filipino center to miss games for the Dragonflies earlier this season.

In his debut B.League season with Hiroshima, Sotto posted averages of 8.92 points, 4.17 rebounds, and 1.29 blocks per game.

Yokohama currently holds a 10-14 win-loss record in the standings.
