Netizen claims to be catcalled by UP Fighting Maroons basketball players

A netizen, purportedly a student of the University of the Philippines, alleged that she and her friend were catcalled by some members of the Fighting Maroons men’s basketball team.

In a social media post by @theblessedbhie, they were within the UP premises when a car, reportedly with some UP varsity players inside, passed by and catcalled them.

“Not really surprised to see this behavior when earlier this year some of these men literally catcalled me and my friend while we were walking to A2 😀,” she said, while reposting the viral video of Francis Lopez’s grabbing a “horror train” employee.

“Stop giving them a pass pls knowing what they did to us i just know that they’re sketchy people w questionable morals haha,” she added. “Actually 1/2 scared to post this kasi hindi ko alam kung gaano ka-protected ang team lolz,” she added.

“But anyway ! hindi ko naman linalahat pero kung iisa kayong entity lahat kayo damay :)) work on being decent people i guess hahaha,” @theblessedbhie continued on her tweet on Christmas Day.

She, however, cleared outgoing Fighting Maroons forward Crispin John “CJ” Cansino and Harold Alarcon. Still, she was certain that those who catcalled her were from the men’s basketball team after inquiring and identifying the car’s plate number.

“Just to confirm also (since people keep mentioning sa QT), wala sila cj and harold sa kotse. didn’t know na they were varsity until we saw a familiar face exit the vehicle,” she said.

“I had some varsity friends confirm if familiar ang kotse and plate and from mbt nga raw,” @theblessedbhie concluded her post. “Basta confirmed na inyo ang plate number hehe so :)))).”

Several netizens expressed their disgust and disappointment towards the off-court actions of some members of the Fighting Maroons squad.

Atletiko/Fastbreak sought comment from the UP men’s basketball team but has not received a response as of now.

This recent issue against the Fighting Maroons team arose a day after Lopez gained attention for pulling the mask of an employee during a “horror train” ride at an amusement park, as captured in a vlog post by Cansino.
