The TNT Tropang Giga wasted no time in securing rookie center Henry Galinato for the 48th PBA season.
On Saturday, Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management announced that the former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon had signed a two-year deal with the Tropang Giga.
His rookie contract was finalized in the presence of TNT’s interim coach and team manager, Jojo Lastimosa, as well as player-agent Marvin Espiritu.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters initially selected Galinato during the second round of the PBA Season 48 Rookie Draft last Sunday.
However, the Painters promptly traded him, along with Jewel Ponferrada, to TNT in exchange for Dave Marcelo and a future first-round pick.
Galinato expressed his excitement in a previous interview about joining a team with a winning tradition like the Tropang Giga.
“I am just excited, man,” Galinato said. “I have been with winning coaches with UP, and I am really excited to help the TNT.”
“I just came out of UP’s finals (appearance in the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball tournament), and I want to win a championship (in the PBA) just to redeem myself,” he added.
